I don’t need to tell you that The Wall rules. If I do, then you’re a ‘tard. It rules. It rules Britannia.
What I do need to tell you is how much the DVD commentary rules. Who the hell knew Roger Waters has a brilliant sense of humor?
“The film is deeply flawed,” he says, “because there aren’t any laughs.” Waters makes great sport of Bob Geldof. During the scene where Geldof is alone, clawing at the massive wall, Waters adopts an Irish brogue, “Bloody clever these Egyptians. Christ Almighty, how’ve they done dat? Look at the size of dis ting. Jesus Christ.” Geldof presses his head against the wall. Waters snarks, “It’s ticking. He’s confused. He’s been watching The Dam Busters for too long.”
Gerald Scarfe, animator and long-time Waters collaborator, joins in on the commentary.
Not crap.
